1970-71 Colonel J H Gibson
Built by Colonel J H Gibson in 1970, and formerly called Dunroamin, it consisted of just 12 boxes, with Gibson remaining there for 2 seasons. In 1972 it was taken over by Pat M Taylor who extended it to 24 boxes in 1973. Pat Taylor remained at Dunroamin until 1978, after which he renamed it Cedar Lodge, remaining for a further 5 years until 1984.

1972-1984 Pat M Taylor
In 1972 Pat Taylor bought Dunroamin Stables, at that time consisting of 12 boxes, from Colonel J H Gibson. Pat remained at the stables for the next 12 years, renaming it Cedar Lodge in 1979 when he doubled its stable capacity to 24. Taylor managed to turn out a regular stream of winners at a huge number of different Southern and Midland tracks, from Taunton to Leicester, including winners at Ascot and Cheltenham. His best horse was the hurdler Ambremont who won the 1977 Bishops Cleeve Hurdle at Cheltenham, was backed at 33/1 to run well in the Daily Express Triumph Hurdle, and chalked up a sequence of victories. In 1978 he provideclater Lambourn trainer William Muir with a win on Mary Green in the Nimrod Amateur Stakes at Haydock. In 1984 Taylor ceased training at Cedar lodge and there was a period of uncertainty until Mick Channon used the stables in 1992.

1992-1993 Mick Channon
Mick Channon, born in Orcheston, Wiltshire on 28th November 1948, retired from professional football in 1986 and immediately set about pursuing his dream of becoming a racehorse trainer, acting as assistant trainer firstly to John Baker in Devon and then Ken Cunningham-Brown in Hampshire. He applied for a licence in October 1989, but was turned down on a technicality, but in late December the Jockey Club finally granted him a licence. He launched his training career at Saxon Gate stables, owned by Fulke Walwyn and leased to Simon Christian until he transferred to Mercy Rimell's old yard at Kinnersley. He started with 10 horses, but soon had a full yard of 25 horses at Saxon Gate, which included 4 National Hunt horses, and saddled 16 winners in his first season, the first of which was owned by fellow England footballer Kevin Keegan. One of his most successful horses in the early part of his career was the filly You Know The Rules, who won twice at Sandown in 1990, and notched up 4 further victories in 1991, including the Royal Hong Kong Jockey Club Handicap at Sandown and the Sceptre Stakes at Doncaster. He made use of Cedar Lodge stables from 1992 to 1993 before transferring to larger premises at Kingsdown Stables and managed to fill all 50 boxes. Mick later left Lambourn, moving just down the road to West Ilsley in 1999.

1994-2000 Rupert J Arnold
Rupert J Arnold, born circa 1960, assisted some of the most successful Flat race trainers in the country before launching his own training career in 1994. He previously worked for Jeremy Hindley at Kremlin House Stables, Newmarket, John Winter at Highfield Stables, Newmarket, and Paul Cole at Whatcombe, although Cole was also based at Hill House and Delamere Cottage stables in Lambourn. He spent his short 6-year training career at Cedar Lodge Stables, Upper Lamborun before taking on the role of chief executive of the National Trainers Federation in August 2000. He was also a director of the BHB and its successor the BHA, as well as additional roles with the Horsemen's group and British Horseracing Education and Standards Trust.

2001-present Sylvester Kirk
Sylvester Kirk, son of the Irish National Hunt trainer Syl and his wife Myra, and brother of Rhonda, was destined to spend his life in racing. His father trained just outside Clady, County Tyrone, and won the Ulster National at Downpatrick on 3 occasions, twice with Treat Me Good and once in 1979 with Miss Leap Year. He also won the Slaney Hurdle at Naas with Regular Time. Sylvester not only learnt his trade from his father, but then spent time working for the Irish National Stud, Coolmore Stud and in Australia before acting as assistant to Richard Hannon senior in Marlborough for 8 years. He married Richard's daughter Fanny and the pair believed that, in 2001, the time was right for Sylvester to train on his own account. He successfully applied for a trainer's licence and the couple purchased Cedar Lodge, Upper Lambourn and set about the hard work of turning it into the successful stable it is today. One of his earliest victories in a high-profile race was when Gracefully won the Group 3 Prestige Stakes at Goodwood. Further Listed race success came in 2004 when Don Pele won the Nayef Rose Bowl Stakes. Sylvester celebrated a Royal Ascot success in the 2006 Windsor Castle Stakes with Elhamri, going on to win the valuable Newbury Super Sprint in the same year. If ever there was a course specialist it was Sri Diamond between 2005 and 2007, winning no less than 4 Bet Direct Handicaps, culminating in a success in the 2006 Winter Derby. Nakuti proved to be a money-spinner in 2014 and 2015, winning the EBF Stallions Fillies Handicap at Newmarket, following it up with victory in the Weatherbys Pipalong Stakes at Pontefract, and the Atalanta Stakes at Sandown. Sylvester proves year upon year that if the horse is good enough then he will bring the best out of the horse, a point he proved in 2016 in a rare raid on the Continent when Simmie won the Prix Yacowlef at Chantilly.
